The challenge

The install was never the hard part.

It was everything after it. Homestead were never short of work. The drain was what came after each install — the MCS certification, the IBG, the DNO application, the BUS grant claim, the handover pack, the warranties to register. Every finished job quietly opened a second job at a desk.

It piled up in evenings and weekends, and it carried real risk. A missed BUS deadline or an incomplete handover pack could hold up a grant or a sign-off — customer waiting, team firefighting, momentum gone.

Ample took the lot. We handle the MCS certification, the IBG, the DNO application and the BUS grant claim — every install certified through our accreditation — and we build the handover pack and register the warranties, workmanship and manufacturer. The team finishes the install and moves straight to the next one. The paperwork is handled before anyone has to think about it.

"I got into this trade to fit heat pumps, not to spend my Sundays chasing DNO applications and warranty registrations. That part just happens now — I don't think about it."

The outcome

Same team, more installs, none of the admin.

Since joining Ample, Homestead have handed five hours of admin a week back to their team — time that now goes into quoting, surveying and fitting. Every BUS grant has been claimed inside its deadline, and not one compliance step has slipped. More installs from the same headcount, with no one working weekends to keep up. The admin didn't get faster. It stopped being theirs.
