Sam's second heat pump
Sam had already lived with a heat pump before he came to us. What he hadn’t had was anyone looking after it. Now, at his home in East Claydon, he’s got a new heat pump with the Heat Pump Plan behind it.

When no one knows your system
Sam and his partner had just bought the house when the old heat pump started to go wrong. The company that fitted it wasn’t the one they had to call.

"When it was going wrong, we had to call companies that didn't install it. And it was pretty stressful, especially when just buying a house."

Then, while Sam was on holiday in Japan, the heat pump started playing up. His mum was looking after the house, reading error codes down the phone while he searched for fixes and tried to get an engineer out.
“So we knew that we wanted to get it sorted and that’s what led us to find you.”
A replacement without the upfront bill
Sam’s old heat pump was 15 years old and on its last legs. He didn’t qualify for the government grant, so a replacement meant covering the whole cost. While looking for a way round it, he found our Heat Pump Plan. It meant he could replace the heat pump without finding the money for it all at once.
One team that knows the property
Sam’s Heat Pump Plan includes annual servicing. When something needs looking at, he calls the team that was there from the start.
When asked how things have changed since joining Ample, Sam described the difference as ‘pretty transformative.”
Warm, quiet and cheap to run
The house looks after itself through the colder months.
“In the colder months, I have a consistently warm, cosy home. I’m not forever turning heating up or heating down and the house is just sort of regulating itself, and I have hot water.”
When the new heat pump went in, his partner thought it sounded louder than the old one. They traced the noise to the fridge.

“My fridge is noisier.”

Sam’s early estimate is a saving of about 25% on his energy bill, before he’d been through the coldest months.
